Kitchen Remodeling Event Open to the Public, Sponsored by DirectBuy of Indianapolis

Indianapolis, Indiana (PRWEB) January 23, 2014

DirectBuy of Indianapolis is excited to be hosting a Kitchen Remodeling Event on Saturday, February 8th, 2014 from 10am-3pm at the showroom located at 8450 Westfield Boulevard in Indianapolis.  This event is open to the public and not restricted to DirectBuy members.

DirectBuy members have access to over 700 suppliers and one million name-brand products at manufacturer prices, without the markup associated with shopping the traditional retail way.

We’re fortunate to be able to offer kitchen remodeling as one of our specialties at DirectBuy of Indianapolis.  With an in-house kitchen designer and dedicated and knowledgeable service staff to help with the project, our members are very happy not only with the final look of the project, but with the service, selection and value they receive at DirectBuy.

The Kitchen Remodeling Event will feature some of our most popular DirectBuy of Indianapolis vendors.  These vendors will be present to answer questions about their products, give suggestions and presentations that will guide you through the many steps of a kitchen remodeling project.

The following visiting vendors will represent all areas of a kitchen remodel

The cabinetry representative will be from Norcraft.

The marble countertop representative will be from M&M Granite.

A flooring and back splash representative from Daltile will provide great suggestions on how to select tiling for a kitchen.

Royal Mortgage will be available to discuss financing options for your project.

Additionally, there will also be a few contractors in the showroom to offer advice.

To add to the fun, there will also be a few vendors at the event that will be of greater interest once the remodeling project is complete.  Those vendors are:

Le Creuset offers cast iron and stainless cookware, bakeware, pots, pans and kitchen and bar tools.

Nambé makes museum-quality art a part of daily life, combining fine materials with hand craftsmanship and design for serving and useful items in a kitchen.

Also featured will be Ohio Table Pad, a wholesale supplier of quality table protection products, since 1923.

While DirectBuy offers many mid to high-end products for any new kitchen project, one of the best reasons for letting DirectBuy of Indianapolis help you with your kitchen project is the unprecedented value.  DirectBuy of Indianapolis offers over one million products from over 700 quality manufacturers to its members at manufacturers’ pricing.  Because DirectBuy offers direct purchasing from the manufacturer, members can save 30, 40 and up to 50% off of the “sale” price of the big box store, even the internet.  When considering a home remodeling project either for the kitchen, bathroom, family room, bedroom or any room in the home, buying direct allows consumers to save substantially while inspiring the lifestyle they deserve.

DirectBuy of Indianapolis invites consumers to a Free Savings Seminar to share details on how DirectBuy members can purchase items at direct manufacturing prices from over 700 suppliers.  In many cases consumers find they can purchase higher quality products at lower prices. Visit us at http://www.directbuyindy.com to find out more.

Schedule a Free Savings Seminar by calling (317) 472-9810 and receive a VIP Package at the time of the visit.  DirectBuy of Indianapolis is located at 8450 Westfield Boulevard which is close to the Range Line and Westfield Boulevard intersection, next to the YMCA.

We look forward to seeing you at our event!

has anyone used Sears to remodel their kitchen?

Question by anonymous: has anyone used Sears to remodel their kitchen?
I need to remodel my house’s kitchen, including new appliances, cabinets, and flooring. I have no idea how to go about finding a reputable kitchen contractor, and I see Sears does remodels. Anyone have experience with them?

Answer by Maria
My parents used Sears to remodel their kitchen and it turned out great! It was a very unworkable kitchen before with a ton of cabinetry but little counter space. It now not only looks great but is very workable. I believe they did have a bit of trouble getting the exact appliances they wanted and did have to go to lowe’s or something but it all worked out in the end. Good luck!

Q&A: How do I find contractors and pricing for a commercial kitchen build out for a start-up restaurant?

Question by Stretch99A2: How do I find contractors and pricing for a commercial kitchen build out for a start-up restaurant?
I am starting a new restaurant and need more accurate pricing estimates for the landlord and bank as far as kitchen build out costs. How do I find commercial kitchen contractors and how do I price shop without wasting everyone’s time? Do I need an approved design layout first? Help!

Best answer:

Answer by Roz
I would do a layout first and then have the contractors bid it out according to the design layout. That way you get the contractors bidding out the same thing and you can compare apples to apples.

They will ask some questions that you didn’t think about so your design layout may alter.

You can find reviews on the services you need at Angie’s List – from electrician to physician. This is a special link for a special offer: http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-3501334-10582896?sid=ya061209

This looks like residential contractors but I’ve gotten contractors that have done commercial work as well. At least you can see reviews of them.

Hope it goes well!

My kitchen remodel included “appliance installation” does that include moving the appliances into the house?

Question by dorigen: My kitchen remodel included “appliance installation” does that include moving the appliances into the house?
I hired a kitchen design company to do a total gut and remodel of my kitchen. The contract says that appliance installation is included. The appliance company dropped off the appliances in my garage. My kitchen contractor is claiming that only the “installation” of the appliances is included, not the physical movement of the appliances from outside the house to inside. Is this typical? I feel like I’m getting ripped off because I might have to spend extra money to get a mover.

Best answer:

Answer by eskie lover
When we specify installation, we mean that we physically move them from where they were delivered to where they will be installed. It often happens that the appliances are delivered before other work that needs to be performed before the appliance is installed, isn’t. And, we don’t want the appliances cluttering up the area until that work is completed, so many clients have them delivered into the garage until my electrician or plumber says the appliance is ready to be installed and all other prep work is completed.

Personally, I would be a little insistent with the design company that they move the appliances from the garage to the kitchen. Especially, if there is other work to be completely prior to their installation. I would threaten to contact the Better Business Bureau and the State Contractor’s Licensing Board to complain. Moreover, this is a very poor example of customer service and I gather they aren’t expecting you to be a happy satisfied customer who will act as a referral in the future!
